ABOUT US

Coirsa was founded in 1984 by Mr. Rene Mendez and his wife.  Their family had been representing shipping lines in the ports of Guatemala for over 80 years.  Mr. Mendez and his family first gained their experience working for the family business and later, directly with the Agents of P & O Nedlloyd, Baltic Shipping, CCT, Hapag-Lloyd, Mexican Line, C.P. Ships, Evergreen, Marfret, Streamline and others, through Cental American countries.

Coirsa provided a strategy and successfully executed a plan for TMM to provide its service through Puerto Quetzal container port.  The result greatly increased container movements.

In 1987, Coirsa opened the market for TMM in Honduras and was granted the Agency for that country. With the acquisition of TMM by C.P. Ships, Coirsa was granted the Agency for Lykes Lines and Italia Di Navigazzione in Guatemala and Honduras based on their performance.

All together the above mentioned representation lasted 30 years.

Currently, Coirsa is the agent for Express Container Lines (feeder services)  in Honduras and other tramp vessels as well.

Our personnel has been well trained, and updated with customs and port law changes in each country, used to obtain cargo for new different trades as the Lines dictates from time to time for import, as well as for export cargo.

The employees are all committed to Customer Service and to work under the line’s convenient rules and regulations.

The top management of Coirsa, as well as the rest of employees, are constantly watching for the line´s interest to be enforced.
